Sad Day for Michael

Michael's soccer season ended.  He was SO bummed!  He can't wait to play again.  I only got one good action shot from his last game. I was too busy trying to get some video of him.  He truly just loves soccer.  I got lots of cute videos of him.

He was just too cute not to add in.  He LOVED the popcorn and snacks I always brought.

He wears his medal around the house pretty much all the time. Love this kid!  Glad we found something that doesn't plug in that he truly loves!

Another Birthday Boy

The beginning of October brought us Mike's birthday.  With it being conference weekend, we didn't do much.  With birthday traditions, the kids are really into them and we couldn't skip any for Dad.  He got a birthday game instead of a birthday book at breakfast.  Luke told Mike every single present as he handed it to him.  Kids make adult birthdays so much more fun. :)

He got a sweatshirt from "The OTHER" side.  It was just a titch too small to stay big after washing and to be cozy enough and now Costco doesn't have them anymore to exchange for a bigger size.  Oh darn. ;)

We had a super low key day.  Some friends over for pot roast dinner and cake. He gave me a cheesy smile.  He is actually ice creamed out and asked for just a yellow cake with chocolate frosting.  His favorite.

All in all, I think he had a good day.

Functionally Ugly

In my last house, I had this full of art supplies in my office with a table for the kids.  They had an "art room."  I loved it, and my kids did lots of art.  Since we moved here, not a crayon has come out as this has been hidden.  After much debate, the aesthetics of this in the middle of my kitchen is being overtaken by my want for kid artwork. So here it is....

But in the week it's been here, (each kid has a homework drawer) there has been no lost homework, and my table looks like this......
Every single day.

So, I'll let my kitchen look like I have kids. :)

Pumpkin Patch

There's a cute pumpkin patch here in Eagle Mountain that you pick your pumpkin, leave a donation, and it's ALL donated to the Perpetual Education Fund.  Michael went for preschool and had a blast.  So I took the kids after school which a bunch of friends. It was a fun way to pass the afternoon on a gorgeous day.

Just For Fun

I couldn't help but do a little comparison.  This was each kids' first birthday cake picture.  It's cute to see an exact comparison of how all my babies look.  Spencer definitely looks the most like Isabelle. I remember all these days.  I love blogging for the fact when I record events, it helps me remember it better on my own.  I love my babies!!!!

Birthday Boy!

My cute baby turned one last week.  It was such a wonderful day.

He was so distracted by his balloons. Why yes, those are 1st birthday balloons.  Who says the baby doesn't get anything special (never mind it was the ONLY package of balloons left at Wal-Mart on Saturday night.  Haha)

He does this cute thing with his hands anytime he wants anything.  He also LOVES zucchini muffins.  He was going nuts waiting for us to sing to him.

Yum!  He devoured THREE of these for breakfast plus a banana!

Birthday book

He was extra adorable at church.  To the point, I couldn't tell you a dang thing that was said in Relief Society. And before I get any flack, yes that is hand sanitizer. Yes, I wiped the top off with a wet wipe, no he is NOT drinking it, nor do I use it on him.

That night we had Mike's parents and his sister, Sharon and Joe's family for dinner.  We did home made pizzas, watermelon, and salad.  We had fun making the pizzas together.  It was delicious and after picking off the cheese, Spencer LOVED it!  He devoured his dinner. Happy Messy baby. :)  We had to have a bath after dinner.

Even though we have some awesome cake decorators, I felt bad having an ice cream cake for a dairy free baby.  So I made him one.  It's supposed to be a dinosaur.  I was going to make the head and tail longer, but ran out of time for it to be frozen all the way to piece it all together.   This is out of order, but too cute not to add.

Present time.  He had LOTS of helpers.  This is the only picture not completely crowded with helpful kiddos.

This microphone was the favorite toy, by a long shot.

When Mike took it away to get it out of the packaging, he went nuts.

Happy again with it.  We added batteries to this chair that has not had working batteries in oh, 4ish years.   He sat there dancing to his microphone and his chair.  Adorable.

And he needed bath #2. :)

Spencer is such joy around here.  I'm so glad Heavenly Father is in the details and Spencer is a part of our family.  He makes me so happy.  He's finally mastered the stairs, is standing alone, but not walking, and knows a few signs. He LOVES books.  Specifically animal books with photographs, not pictures. He gets really excited about books and makes this cute giddy sound. He still sucks his thumb, but for the most part only when he has his blanket. And it's usually just in his bed or car seat. A few times out shopping, I haven't taken his blanket and instead of just popping in his thumb and going to sleep, he just is fussy. He loves music.  He dances no matter what he's doing.  It's so funny. He also loves a messy room.  When you put him on the floor with one or two toys, he looks at you and starts to cry.  Plop him in the middle of a messy playroom or living room and he's happy forever. He's generally a very happy happy baby as long as no older sibling is torturing him.  We love our Spencer!!!

Perfect Weather

As much as I'm going to hate what is ahead, I can't help but LOVE 4 seasons.  I loved Florida weather as well, but there is nothing like a Utah fall.  Every day is a surprise.  Shorts or coats?  Who knows?!  But that means evenings are 60-70's and perfect for being outside all the time.

Daddy's Boy

Spencer has discovered Mike.  He is obsessed.  He follows Mike around and likes to go visit him in his office throughout the day.  Spencer has finally reached the age Mike really enjoys kids, so the feeling is mutual. Mike will take lots of breaks and play with him for a minute. Spencer loves to sit with Mike too, but I think that has more to do with playing with his cell phone. It's been cute to see their relationship blossom.

New Beginnings

We started piano lessons.  She has been bugging and bugging me to start.  I was going to wait until soccer was over, but figured, what the heck?  We'll give it a go.  She loved it and picked it up super quick.  I however, have done a shotty job at follow up.  So while yes, we have started, we haven't made a ton of progress since.  Baby steps, baby steps. A new habit is hard to start! She sits down and plays around a lot, and practices sometimes.  Our lessons have gone well.  I'm enjoying it. But since I've never done this part before, it's a learning curve for the both of us. I'm excited to share my love for the piano with my kids.  I'm SO grateful my mom pushed and pushed and pushed me to get to a point where I enjoyed it. I sit down and play almost every day.  I've lost a lot of my skill being pianoless for 4 years, but it comes back slowly, but surely. I love music and the power good music has.

Nut Job

Luke got these glasses at the dentist a while ago.

Then I caught a Gymboree sale and found this adorable hat for just 5 bucks.  It's a monster.  Teeth, blue horns and eyes. It's SO dang cute on,

And then when he wears them together....oh my gosh, I could die it's so hilarious and cute!

A certain pair of butterfly sunglasses come to mind. :)
