The Birthday Party

While Mike's parents were here we did a joint birthday party for all our fall cuties.  So they gave them their parents one day and then the next day we went to Chuck E. Cheese.  The kids had a blast and got some great toys!  Enjoy the picture overload of my adorable kids!

Oh My Goodness, Children (eyeroll)

So while Mike's parent's were here we did a joint birthday party.  Since we have Sept, Oct, and Nov birthdays for our kiddos, it was fun to just do a Grandma and Grandpa Party.

Mike's Mom and I took the kids to Toys R Us to wander and see what caught their eyes and whatnot, so she could buy their birthday presents for the party. It was a fun little outing and quite adventurous.

Michael put any item with "Cars" on it into the cart.  We were constantly taking stuff out.  He also carried/pushed around a popper toy and we could hear him wherever he was. It was so nice!  Almost as good as squeaker shoes! At the end he was running to catch up with us.  Tucked under his arm was a "Cars" collection and in the other hand was "Cars" wrapping paper.  He said, "I have my birday present!"

Pretty much nothing really caught Isabelle's eyes until the very end....Dizzy Dancers.  She's been seeing them on TV commercials and always goes ballistic.  Well we had loaded up the cart with the stuff for the boys because they wouldn't notice, but we were careful with Isabelle.  I walked her away to look at other stuff while Mike's mom snuck it in the cart.  She started throwing a fit that was all she wanted and there was nothing for her.  She absolutely lost it. I took the kids out to the car while Mike's mom checked out and Isabelle ran to the van (we borrowed a van for the week) and hid in the backseat crying.  Not just a little bit either.

Is that not the saddest face you ever saw? So dramatic.  Haha!

After that we headed to Discovery Park.  One I've wanted to go to, but it's quite a drive so I haven't made it.  It was really cool!  I snapped a couple of cute pictures of my loves.

Happy Birthday Part 2

We finally gave Luke his presents for his birthday.  He got 2 Hot Wheels which Michael actually got ahold of a few days ago and they have been playing with them since.  So no opening there.  It was funny when I let Isabelle and Michael pick one out at the store for Luke, Michael kept saying, "My Tar!"  I tried explaining it was from him FOR Luke.  He totally didn't get it.  He still claims they are his.  No biggie since they just got added to the bucket, but Luke LOVES Hot Wheels!  More than any other cars.  They fit in his hands perfectly and he can get almost an entire car in his mouth.  They pass the 2 criteria for a great toy.  He does also drive them on things and make a little car noise....both boys, SHOCKED how early sound effects appear.

He loves balloons, so of course we had to blow one up.  He has been making the funniest faces lately. I got a bunch of them while he was playing with the balloon.

He didn't do much unwrapping, thanks to helpful older siblings.  I'm out of newspaper, so I used packing material from a package we just got. haha!

And we gave him the rest of the Geo Trax we scored on Craigslist last fall.

In the playing around, Isabelle made the discovery of every little girl at some point.
Floor A/C vent + dress = A super poofy dress and lots of giggles

Bedtime Looks A Little Different

Isabelle was still sucking on her blanket.  Gross. They are seriously so nasty.  I have 2 and I wash one almost every day, but seriously, still so gross. I told her she could pick out any blanket she wanted, I would make one, or buy one already put together, ANYTHING!  But she had to trade me for her old ones.  Well one at Wal-Mart caught her eye.  A ladybug fleece knot kit. I made it quick, washed it up, and we had a small sad/happy "ceremony."  She gave up the nastiness and went to bed without too much trouble.  She was very concerned I was going to throw them away.  I told her I wouldn't and she could see them, but she can't have them anymore.  When she woke up the next morning, she came down and said, "Can I just give them a hug?"  She hugged them and then gave them back and played happily.  So funny.  She periodically asks me to see her blankets, but we are done with the sucking (and the stench)!  YAY!

Go Snow Leopards!

So we're a soccer family finally.  I LOVE kid soccer.  I think it's adorable and I finally have a kid big enough for it!  Last minute we were able to get Isabelle onto her friend Josie's team.  It's a perfect little team of 6 little girls.  Oh did I mention 3 of those 6's mother's name is Julie....What is it with Spokane and the name Julie? There are a bazillion of us!  I digress...anyway.  Isabelle's first game was great.  Mike was out of town and didn't get in until 2 hours after her game. He was pretty bummed.  I promised lots of video footage and pictures. Well, our camera is completely on the fritz and wouldn't focus and kept freezing up and all sorts of craziness!  So this time I have an excuse of my crappy picture taking.  But I was devastated!  Oh well, I guess I'll just have to take lots of pictures next game. :)

Half time for the Snow Leopards.  Their coach is awesome!!!  So for their first game they lost miserably to the Red Butterflies, but had a good time.  It wasn't until one of the dad's offered his girl a Barbie for every goal before we started getting goals.  Unfortunately it wasn't until the last quarter. Isabelle did a great job following the ball around and got a couple of good kicks in, but isn't very aggressive yet. She loves it and just enjoys playing.

Michael and Lincoln played their little hearts out.  They each had a handful of cars and were driving them on the bricks as roads.  It was so cute!  But I was never able to get a good picture. :( Lame.

Portland!

For the long weekend, we headed to Portland to see Derrick and Missy.  We love them!  We always have lots of laughs, the kids love each other, and it's just so relaxing. And I took really random pictures of our trip.   Are we surprised?

Isabelle got creative with her markers.

We went boating and had a blast.  I just love being on a boat with family and friends. However, this is the only decent picture I got that day. Luke needs a haircut desperately.

We went to the coast one day.  I have never been to the Oregon coast.  Everyone always talks about it....well, it's cold, it's windy, and the water is freezing. We still had fun.

I love this picture because Michael is mid-air.  He was so excited even though the sand NEXT to the water is freezing.

Pretty sure Isabelle didn't wear a single bit of her own clothes while we were there.  Isabelle and McKall  are best buds.

Mike and Derrick, best buds.

Michael and Trevin, best buds.  Played in this hole jumping in and out forever.

Luke happily mostly sat on this blanket and played with the kites.

Isabelle still loves flying kites.

Luke ate an impressive amount of sand, I mean, goldfish.

Not lots of shells, but Isabelle seemed to still find a bucketful.

I had to feed Luke, while in the truck, Michael came to me SOAKED. He fell in, haha. Got him changed and he was done, so we played in the truck while Mike tried to get Isabelle to leave.

We hit a parking lot to eat our picnic dinner on our way back to Derrick and Missy's house.

The rest of the time we played games, sat around, ate deliciousness and saw the dahlia farms and Luke screamed and I mean screamed 5 1/2 hours on the way home.  All in all, it was a great trip.
