Chicken Pox still exist?

Yes aparently they do. We found out the hard way...okay maybe not the hard way, she only had 9 little pox. We have no idea where they came from, and she's done with them now. She was actualy very happy and agreeable through the experience. However we did have one "enjoyable" evening.

Pagosa Springs, Colorado

For Mike's family trip this year, we went to Pagosa Springs, Colorado. We had a blast! All the cousins had fun playing together. We took lots of hikes and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The place we stayed at was right on a lake and had swimming, mini golf, and of course shuffle board. This is the view from our balcony.

Isabelle figured out there are yummy things in the diaper bag and she can help herself when no one is looking.

She also found a new sleeping position.

This was an old mining town named Creede. We took a self guided driving tour through the mountains and old mining ruins. It was really neat and very interesting.

The big hit was the Durango and Silverton Train. There's an old steam train that you can ride from Durango to an old mining town, Silverton. All the boys love trains, and were excited. It was really fun and Isabelle did surprisingly well. She absolutely loved the train. I was worried the 3 1/2 hour trip each way was going to be difficult to man handle her, but she took and nap and the rest of the time stood on our lap holding the railing and watching the scenery go by.

Vegas Wedding

We went to Mike's cousin's wedding in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago. Chris and Shani looked so happy and everything was beautiful. We enjoyed all the festivities and spending time with Mike's family.

In between all the wedding activities, we spent time at the pool and lazy river at the condo. Isabelle's favorite part was the pole. We decided it was a good thing we moved from Las Vegas when we did. :)

Happy 4th of July

For the 4th of July we had lots of fun. We went up to Mike's family's Brighton Cabin in the morning and walked in the parade. Isabelle and David were in the wagon and were candy magnets! Isabelle had a grand time "eating" all the candy. She only made it through the wrapper on a cinnamon salt water taffy but really liked it.

Look how much candy these two got!
Isabelle and her new cousin, Sarah, had cute matching red outfits and bracelets.
Hanging out at the cabin.
That night we ditched all previous plans and ordered pizza and did driveway fireworks at Mike's parent's house. His brother and sister and families were there and all the grandkids had lots of fun. We were able to see one great fireworks show in the valley just from the driveway.

What we've been up to...

June was a busy but fun month. We went lots of places and Isabelle is a whole new baby.

We took a spontaneous trip to visit my sister in San Diego. Isabelle did pretty good in the car most of the time. I gave her a biter biscuit for the first time (not knowing quite how messy they were) and it kept her happy for a LONG time! 10 wet wipes later, everything was clean again. After we made it to San Diego, we found new teeth! No wonder she was a little grumpier in the car than usual.

Jake also did great in the car for the long treck.

Isabelle had so much fun in San Diego playing with Andrew. They are just 3 weeks apart and had so much fun drooling on each other and playing the hat game. (Jill this picture is for you. Izzy misses you and she loves the dress you gave her!) While there we went to the beach, went swimming, and played LOTS of games!!
After getting home from San Diego, we took a camping/boating trip to Yuba Lake with Mike's cousins. I forgot my camera. :( Isabelle loved the sand and thought it tasted pretty good. She tried to shovel it in by the handful. It was fun to go camping again. It's been a long time since Mike and I have camped. We used to go all the time. I got to do a little fishing too. I didn't catch anything.

We came home and went camping up American Fork Canyon with our neighbors. Mike promised me a camping trip that I could do a little more fishing. I fished Tibble Fork and once again didn't catch anything, but still had fun. I had a grand encounter with a moose. But forgot my camera on this trip too. :(

All this time, Isabelle has gotten all the kinks out of crawling and is all over the place. She still prefers to do more a bear crawl on her toes. She doesn't like to crawl on her knees. I'm shocked at how fast she can go on those tippy toes.
She has discovered the stairs and also had her first great tumble down them.
She pulls herself up to everything and now greets me standing proudly in her crib after naps.
She has found Jake's toys to be so much more entertaining than her own. They love to share them despite my efforts to help her mind her own business. Jake leaves her toys alone, but the other isn't true yet.
Now that she controls where she goes, Jake is a magnet. She likes to lay and suck on him....I know gross!

Isabelle is officially a tummy sleeper and continues to be an amazing sleeper! Nothing cuter than a sleeping baby.

My Little Yoga Baby

In the process of figuring out crawling, Isabelle does some great Yoga moves. Usually her head is down for this pose, but I could never get the picture just right. She is moving around now. She likes to be on her tippy toes like this and then eventually gets to her knees. It's pretty entertaining to watch.

What is this stuff?

Being a winter baby, Isabelle is just discovering the outdoors. It's FINALLY been nice enough to hang outside. I sunscreened her up and we went and played outside. She didn't quite know what was going on. The grass was a new sensation on her little body. After a few moments she loved the grass! She also thought it was yummy!!!
